Vehicle fire closes I-76 westbound at City Avenue

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A vehicle fire shut down the westbound lanes of the Schuylkill Expressway Tuesday morning, causing major delays for the morning rush.

It happened around 5 a.m. near the City Avenue exit.

All westbound lanes of I-76 were shut down between the Lincoln Drive and City Avenue exits as crews worked to extinguish the flames.

The highway reopened about an hour later.
